Indian Hill started out as a farming community which later then changed to a rural weekend getaway for Cincinnatians in the early 1900s. In the 1920s a couple of business individuals encouraged their other friends to join them in building a community that featured large mansions with stables, kennels and even some very large estates.

All of the land within the City of Indian Hill is zoned for single family residential or agriculture use only. Since Indian Hill is zoned only for residential and agricultural use dining options are found in neighboring communities like Mariemont, Madeira, Milford and more. Being only minutes from Downtown Cincinnati results in an easy morning and evening commute to and from the Indian Hill area. The proximity also helps Indian Hill residents be close to all that Cincinnati has to offer like the Cincinnati Reds baseball, Cincinnati Bengals football to live music concerts in US Bank Arena or at the Aronoff Center.

You can also travel to the Tri-County Mall located in Springdale, which is just a little west of Indian Hill and has a number or shopping choices (Costco, Target, Best Buy etc.), dining choices and more.
Indian Hill has plenty of dining options and ever expanding entertainment options located in neighboring cities. Towards the south in Anderson Township there is Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment (has dining, gaming, and live entertainment) as well as Coney Island Amusement Park. Milford to the east of Indian Hill has a 16 screen Cinemark Theater and towards the west in Kenwood there is the 12 screen theater Kenwood Theater. Towards the north Kings Island Amusement Park lets one enjoy roller coasters and a large water park. Indian Hill is located approximately 12-15 miles via freeway to downtown Cincinnati on a route that goes through I-71 or can go via I-275 and I-471. Average commute time to Cincinnati is 24 minutes.
Indian Hill is served by the 2X, 3, 3X, 11, 12X SORTA Metro bus line. These bus lines have stops in neighboring Indian Hill cities. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is located in Hebron, KY which is approximately 30 minutes’ drive away from Indian Hill via I-71 to I-275.
